Head of Warehouse and Logistics (m/f/d)

Tasks:
Your main task as Head of Warehouse and Logistics (m/f/d) is overall responsibility for organizing, managing and optimizing warehouse and shipping logistics with a focus on efficiency, digitization and compliance with standards. A particular focus is on the systematic analysis and optimization of internal material flow over several levels (three storeys + external warehouse) in order to sustainably improve supply security, routing and process quality.
- Management and development of the warehouse and shipping team
- Organization of goods receipt (e.g. unloading, visual inspection, transfer to incoming goods)
- Responsibility for storage, relocation, picking, packaging and shipping
- Analysis and optimization of internal material flow: recording and evaluation of current material routes and handover points
- Identification of bottlenecks, redundancies, and delays
- Implementation of improvement measures in cooperation with production, purchasing and technology
- Control of storage areas over three building levels and an external warehouse
- Planning and implementation of digitization measures (e.g. scanner solution, mobile data collection, process automation)
- Responsibility for warehouse structure, inventories, redistribution strategies and route optimization
- Coordination with freight forwarders, parcel services and internal specialist departments
- Compliance and development of logistical processes in accordance with QM requirements and legal requirements
Responsibilities and competencies:
- Overall responsibility for logistical processes in the company
- Process responsibility for material movement within the site (floor and external warehouse logistics)
- Decision-making authority in restructuring, space planning and project prioritization
- Interface to related areas (production, purchasing, QA, industrial engineering, IT)
- Responsibility for safety, order, traceability and efficiency in the logistics sector
Qualification:
Technically:
- Completed technical or commercial training with continuing education in the area of logistics/warehouse management or studies in the area of logistics/supply chain management
- Several years of experience in warehouse management and process optimization, ideally in medical technology
- Knowledge of in-house material flow planning, lean logistics, material supply
- Practice in introducing digital logistics solutions and ERP-supported warehouse management
- Experience in dealing with carriers, shipping regulations and export processes
